DTILE loves tiles.
DTILE loves tiles. Very much so, and therefore the pattern. If it was up to DTILE; the world would be tiled. The problem is that tiles are flat, but the world is not. And often it is, for practical reasons, necessary to mount products onto the tile work, a toothbrush must be stored, after all. DTILE designed tiles that bring the dream of a tiled world leapt one step closer.
Welcome to the world of DTILE.

About the designers
In 2001 Arnout Visser, Erik Jan Kwakkel and Peter van der Jagt designed three-dimensional tiles and function tiles; Tiles which might tile the world. That was easier designed than done. The tiles still had to be made.
Erik Jan and Peter travelled around the world to find a factory able to produce them. Not a single one could, but they didn’t abandon their dream to tile the world so easily. They decided in 2010 to buy a machine and after one year of experimenting, improving and perfecting, they succeeded in their quest. The tiles could be made. After this success, they founded 2011 DTILE in 2011 and never looked back.

Museum purchases, publications, awards
DTILE is not just a building material, which can used to clad almost everything, but is also considered, by some, as good design.
This is why it is at widely published, home and abroad. It was awarded many times and was became part of the collection of several museums.

DTILE is a tile-system

DTILE is a system which allows any space or object to be completely covered with a blanket of tiles. This is possible because the DTILE collection consists of flat-, construction-, and function-tiles. The quality of all DTILE products, frost resistant stoneware, ensures that it is applicable everywhere and under all circumstances. And where white tiles are inappropriate or undesirable, colour tiles can be used.
Function Tiles
Function Tiles do honour their name. They integrate a function in a tile so that the tile pattern will not be disturbed by a drain plug, shelf or knife magnet.
Are there any features that were not thought of, let us know. No function is too crazy to be cought in a tile.

Construction tiles
If the world is to be covered under a blanket of tiles, the blanket better be three dimensional. The construction tiles make this blanket of a continuous tile pattern very possible.

Colours
The color palette of DTILE is like all other products in the collection. Clear, timeless and very Dutch.

What can you do with DTILE?
When one thinks of tiles, one often initially thinks of bathrooms and off course DTILE tiles are ideal for that. But DTILE wants to tile the world. Saunas, car washes, fireplaces, cafeterias and espresso machines are a good start, but it should not stop there, the world is far from being tiled.

Why choose DTILE?
Design quality
DTILE find tiles, and especially their own tiles, beautiful, off course. But that view is not very objective. Do not take just DTILE’s word for it.
Worldwide, design professionals and influential architects, choose DTILE because there are wonderful things to do with DTILE. There are dozens of examples, Droog Design used it for its “Hotel Droog” and Phillip Starck chose it for his restaurant “Ma Cocotte”.

Everything is possible with DTILE
DTILE is suitable for anything and applicable everywhere.
There may be grand gestures, or exquisite detailing. Large pavilions, or furniture.
DTILE objects can be very intimate and homely, or public or industrial.
Outside or inside, on the wall or floor, used as a worktop, in public or at home, everything is possible.

Hygiene
DTILE tiles are great for areas where hygiene is important. The tiles are safe, reliable, easy to clean and maintain. In combination with special grouting, it could be used to create a waterproof, impermeable surface. The tiles are extra thick and hard so they do not break easily; bacteria collecting cracks are a thing of the past.

Safety
Wet rooms can be risky. The DTILE floor tiles meet the stringent anti slip standards, and any unintentional falls, will have much less dramatic consequences, thanks to rounded corners.

DTILE is precious
But not expensive. Previously bought objects could be made with DTILE
Think sinks, shower trays, baths and furniture.

Working with DTILE is not difficult and anything will be done do to help you.
There are five easy steps achieve a DTILE object.
Inspiration
Maybe you already know where you would like to apply DTILE, or you where inspired by what you saw on the website. The individuality of a DTILE object is in the details. We therefore created a pinterest page with all kinds of images. Here you can get ideas.

Designing
Once you have decided which object or space you want to tile, you have gained enough inspiration and have an idea of colours, it’s time to make a design.
There is a free designprogram, called “Sketchup”.
To make make your life easy, DTILE created a template for this program. This template contains all DTILE parts, the only thing you need to do is to stack the parts together. How this is done can be read in the manual.
If you dont have the experience, time, or need assistance, tell us what you want, perhaps with a pinterest collage and the dimensions of the object or space, and DTILE will make a sketch for you.

Preparation
Once the design is ready, the dimensions of the to be tiled object should be determined.
If you have created your design with the Sketchup template created, this object is autocratically drawn as well. The only thing which needs to be done, is to put the measurements in.
The other possibility is that DTILE makes the drawings for you.

Building
Once the design is created and the sizes are determined, the object can be built. DTILE has been involved in the creation of numerous projects and the experience and knowledge that was gained can be shared.
There is a vast experience in building with reinforced foam. This foam is waterproof, does not shrink or expands, very light and extremely easy to handle.
DTILE could build the object in cooperation with third parties. Depending on the size and nature of the object it could partially prefabricated and shipped to you. In other cases, the building must take place on site.
